Cattleya mossiae is Venezuela’s national flower.
It is widly cultivated.
This species is found only in Venezuela.
It grows in the in the mountaineous areas of the central northern and southwestern region of the country.
It adapts easily to a variety of conditions.
This cattleya blooms only once a year. Its massive flowering takes place from February to May.
Its flowers can be purple, alba, semi alba and coerulea in color.
